In a MEVZA League match at Tivoli Hall, ACH Volley Ljubljana faced Slovak team TJ Spartak Myjava. The Ljubljana volleyball players dominated throughout the game and celebrated a well-deserved victory in the Central European league by 3:0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-21).
From the opening minutes of the clash with Spartak Myjava, the Ljubljana team made it clear they were leaving nothing to chance in the new year. Coach Hafner started the match with Šen and Marovt as outside hitters, Esko as setter, Šket as opposite, Janž Krži? and Vide?nik as blockers, and captain Kova?i? as libero. The Slovenian champions quickly took a 9:3 lead, sparked by a service run from Šket. They continued to extend their advantage, with Vide?nik’s powerful spike securing a 21:11 lead. The visiting team struggled to match the pace set by Ljubljana, as the home team excelled in serving, blocking, and attacking. The set ended after a service error by Sorra (25:12).
In the second set, Spartak players could not keep up with the fired-up Ljubljana squad. Marovt impressed with strong attacks and blocks, giving his team an 8:3 lead, followed by an ace for a seven-point advantage (12:5). A slight drop in focus allowed the visitors to close the gap to 9:12, but ACH quickly regained control. Kök’s two aces late in the set secured an unassailable eight-point lead (21:13). The set ended with a successful block by Šen (25:18). Unlike the first two sets, Myjava started the third much stronger, earning a four-point lead (3:7) with effective attacks and improved blocking. By the tenth point, Ljubljana had leveled the score and took control of the game again. Key plays from Najdi? and Vide?nik, followed by Marovt’s ace for an 18:14 lead, put the home team ahead. Marovt sealed the victory with two successful attacks, clinching another win for ACH Volley Ljubljana (25:21).
