On Monday evening, ACH Volley Ljubljana cruised to another impressive win in the men’s MEVZA League. The still unbeaten table leaders and defending champions needed just 57 minutes to celebrate a clean sweep (25-14, 25-17, 25-17) of Austria’s reigning national champions UVC Holding Graz on home soil.
Alen Šket, top scorer ACH Volley Ljubljana with 20 points: “Although we are already qualified for the Final Four tournament, every win is welcome. Our opponents could never seriously trouble us. With the dense match schedule, it is important that the squad is big enough so that the coach can also give players time to recover.”
Already on Wednesday the “Orange Dragons” will be hosting Union Raiffeisen WALDVIERTEL, while TJ Spartak MYJAVA will clash with OK Calcit KAMNIK. In the women’s competition OK Calcit KAMNIK will be locking horns with Vasas Óbuda BUDAPEST. The match-ups Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR vs. OK Marina KASTELA (Tuesday) and VB NÖ SOKOL/POST vs. OK Marina KASTELA (Wednesday) had to be postponed due Covid-19 outbreaks.
