MARIBOR – Second day of the MEVZA tournament in Maribor brought us a volleyball showdown between Austrian Zadruga Aich/Dob and Slovakian Komarno.
Zadruga played a great match and deservedly won 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-14, 26-24). Austrian team opened the match much better and they have won the first set convincingly. In second set Komarno played great and because of that they managed to tie the score. Third set went in the wrong direction for Komarno very qucikly. They were down by a lot in this set and Zadruga easily took 2-1 set lead. Fourth set was a real nail-biter, and Zadruga proved they were a better team by taking it and winning the match. Austrian team ended the tournament with a loss and a win. They can go into the New Year break, while Komarno needs to play one more match before their break. They still need to play against home team of this tournament, Merkur Maribor.
