As first of our countries are taking careful steps to uplift some of the imposed restrictions on work and everyday life implemented as a response to the Covid-19 outbreak, MEVZA is slowly shifting focus towards the upcoming 2020/21 season.
Most of our member countries are predicting that towards the end of the summer, begin of autumn, lives should return to a normal state, which may still include certain restrictions in order to contain the spread of the virus, however most of the activities including sports and volleyball shall resume.
Therefore this week, MEVZA’s Secretary General, Ivan Iro already contacted the respective National Federations and their best clubs and provided them with the preliminary information about the 2020/21 season.
Mr. Iro stated that the planning will go ahead, however they will pay close attention to the development of the Covid-19 situation in the region and adjust, if the situation will require.
The schedule is prepared for eight, ten and twelve participating teams and projects a start sometime between mid-September and early October depending of the rounds needed.
Announced is also an extended cooperation with Genius Sports and the continuation of live streaming of all matches on MEVZA’s website.
