New MEVZA Season Kicks Off with Dominant Performances by HAOK Mladost and ACH Volley

The MEVZA’s new season began this week with an exciting set of men’s and women’s matches that highlighted the competitiveness and quality of Central European volleyball.

Men’s Matches

The men’s league opened with a commanding win by HAOK Mladost Zagreb, who defeated TJ Spartak Myjava in straight sets (3:0) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, ACH Volley Ljubljana, another top contender, mirrored Mladost’s result, comfortably beating SK Zadruga Aich/Dob with a 3:0 victory. The Slovenian team showcased their depth and experience, signaling a serious challenge to their regional competitors.

The action continued the next day with a closely contested five-set match where TJ Spartak Myjava narrowly fell to OK i-Vent Maribor (2:3). Myjava put up a tough fight but couldn’t outlast Maribor’s persistent offense, which ultimately clinched them the win.

On the same day, SK Zadruga Aich/Dob rebounded from their earlier loss to beat MOK Mursa Osijek 3:1, showing resilience and adaptability.

HAOK Mladost Zagreb suffered a setback in their second match against OK i-Vent Maribor (1:3). Maribor’s strong showing against Mladost, especially after a narrow win the previous day, places them among the early contenders. Closing out the men’s action, ACH Volley Ljubljana delivered another dominant performance by defeating MOK Mursa Osijek 3:0, solidifying their place as a powerhouse this season.
