MEVZA Representatives Visit Cyprus to Strengthen Cooperation and Support Volleyball Development

MEVZA President Valentina Bifflin and MEVZA Director and Croatian Volleyball Federation President Frane Zanic visited Cyprus as official guests of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation (CVF), reaffirming the strong cooperation between the two organizations.

The visit began on Friday evening with attendance at the Men’s Super Cup Final held at Afrodite Hall in Paphos, where national champions and Cup holders Pafiakos Pafos faced Cup runners-up Anorthosis Famagusta. Both Mrs. Bifflin and Mr. Zanic took part in the awarding ceremony following an exciting final.

On Saturday morning, the two MEVZA representatives attended and addressed the Annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation. CVF President Dr. Costas Constantinou warmly welcomed the guests, and a moment of silence was observed in memory of Mr. Andreas Stavropu, Honorary BOA Member, former Small Countries Division President, and Honorary CVF President, who passed away in January 2025.

In their speeches, Mrs. Bifflin and Mr. Zanic emphasized the importance of Cyprus’s active participation within MEVZA and highlighted the impressive progress of Cypriot volleyball over the past two years.

To recognize their contribution and continuous support, Dr. Constantinou presented the MEVZA representatives with commemorative plaques, small replicas of the Super Cup shields of the 2025 competitions.

Both Mrs. Bifflin and Mr. Zanic expressed their gratitude to Dr. Constantinou for his kind hospitality and initiative, underlining MEVZA’s ongoing commitment to assist the Cyprus Volleyball Federation in further development efforts.

Later that day, the MEVZA delegation also attended the Women’s Super Cup Final between Olympiada Neapolis (champions and Cup holders) and Apollon Limassol (Cup runners-up), held at Lefkotheo Hall in Nicosia, where they once again took part in the awarding ceremony.
