UVC Holding GRAZ ended their MEVZA League campaign on Friday night, celebrating a 3-2 (14-25, 25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 15-9) victory at bottom of the table VKP Bratislava in their last regular season’s match. As a result, Austria’s reigning national champions increased their points to seven from a 2-14 win-loss record.

On Saturday, Final Four tournament hosts SK Zadruga AICH/DOB will be facing fourth-placed OK Calcit KAMNIK at the JUFA-Arena. The Slovenian team as well as HAOK Mladost ZAGREB is still in the race for a Final Four spot. Alongside SK Zadruga AICH/DOB and the unbeaten table leaders ACH Volley LJUBLJANA Slovenia’s reigning national champions OK Merkur MARIBOR are already qualified for the MEVZA League’s climax.

In the women’s competition, OK Calcit KAMNIK left no chance to bottom of the table OK Marina KASTELA, cruising to a 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-20) away win on Thursday evening. Therefore, the confident leaders in the current standing are still unbeaten – now on 25 points from a 9-0 win-loss record.

While OK Calcit KAMNIK as well as second-placed Vasas Óbuda BUDAPEST and hosts VB NÖ SOKOL/POST are confirmed participants in the Final Four tournament, Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR and HAOK Mladost ZAGREB are still fighting for the last ticket to this season’s climax scheduled for later this month in Vienna. Both sides have two more matches remaining.
