OK Calcit KAMNIK took an important step towards the Final Four tournament in the men’s MEVZA League, celebrating a hard-fought 3-2 (17-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 15-12) away win at SK Zadruga AICH/DOB on Saturday night.
As a result, head coach Matija Plesko’s team moved up to third in the current standing now one point ahead of HAOK Mladost ZAGREB. Furthermore, OK Calcit KAMNIK is just one victory away from securing their ticket to this season’s climax scheduled on February 19 and 20 at the JUFA-Arena Bleiburg. In its last regular season match, the Slovenian side will be facing bottom of the table VKP BRATISLAVA on Wednesday.
Alongside SK Zadruga AICH/DOB, the unbeaten table leaders ACH Volley LJUBLJANA and OK Merkur MARIBOR are already qualified for the Final Four tournament. On Sunday evening, Slovenia’s reigning national champions defeated VKP BRATISLAVA 3-1 (25-16, 25-13, 19-25, 25-18) on home soil.
