This season marks the debut of two new clubs in the MEVZA league: Buducnost and Lemesos. Both teams started their campaign this week, with Lemesos making an immediate impact. At the opening of the tournament in Podgorica, the first match of the opening day saw the home team Buducnost face off against Cyprus’ Lemesos.
The first set belonged to the hosts, as Buducnost displayed confidence and set the pace from the very start. With consistent control over the score, they closed the set 25-20, taking an early lead.

The second set, however, brought a shift in momentum. Buducnost began slightly ahead, but Lemesos kept pace and leveled the score at 11-11. From there, the team from Cyprus gained control, gradually pulling away to 14-11 and then 15-12, ultimately securing the set 25-17.
The third set saw Lemesos fully in command. Buducnost struggled to respond, while the visitors maintained their lead throughout, winning the set 25-19 and taking a 2:1 advantage in the match.
Lemesos continued their dominant performance in the fourth set, exploiting Buducnost’s inconsistencies to close the match 25-17. With this 3:1 victory, Lemesos celebrated a remarkable win in their very first MEVZA appearance.
The Podgorica tournament continues tomorrow, with Lemesos set to face Hapoel Kfar Saba in the next match. All information is available here.
