HARTBERG – From July 20th to 22nd, 2023, the best young beach volleyball players from six MEVZA countries (Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary) will meet for the third time in the age categories U16 and U18 MEVZA to determine the Beach volleyball champions. The game will be played in the Styrian sports town of Hartberg. With the club TSV Hartberg and the municipality of Hartberg, the organizational team of the Austrian Volleyball Federation has event-tested partners at its side.
“The city and TSV Hartberg Volleyball can already look back on a number of successful international beach events, the most outstanding being the U20 European Championships for men and women in August 2012. For the third time, the Austrian Volleyball Federation has entrusted TSV with organizing the MEVZA Beach Volleyball Championships, which we are very proud of. In the extraordinarily good range of sports facilities on the Hartberg campus, the teams will certainly find optimal conditions for their top performances, proven greats will be used again in the handling of the tournament, so nothing should stand in the way of a good event. We are particularly pleased that the girls and boys will also have athletes from our own ranks, who already have international experience and will be able to demonstrate their talent in front of their home crowd. Let’s look forward to beautiful days marked by international encounters in Hartberg”, said Manfried Schuller, Chairman of TSV Hartberg – Volleyball.
“The Austrian Volleyball Federation is pleased that two MEVZA tournaments will take place in Austria this year with Innsbruck in September 2023, an adult tournament, and again in Hartberg after 2021 and 2022. With the municipality and TSV Hartberg, we have event-tested partners at our side. It is very important for our young national teams to compete in international competitions, to gain experience and to celebrate success. A center court with floodlit games and a great event program awaits the visitors again. I wish all participants all the best and much success”, said Christian Lick, head of organization and ÖVV Beach Referent.
