The second day of the MEVZA Beach Volleyball 2025 tournament in Bibinje delivered another full slate of thrilling matches, as the group phase concluded and the race to the quarterfinals officially began. With both men’s and women’s teams battling for survival in the knockout rounds, several pairs stood out and secured their spots among the top eight.

Women’s Competition: Big Wins, Tough Losses

Croatian teams faced a challenging day on home sand, with all three pairs falling short in the morning matches. The Austrian duo Hammarberg/Bisanz and the Israeli team Maor/Gonzalez both claimed straight-set victories to book their place in the Round of 12.

Later in the day, Frommova/Marcelova (CZE) and Kotnik/Marolt M. (SLO) advanced directly to the quarterfinals with strong 2:0 performances, while Harmanova/Slezakova (SVK) and Pospisilova/Mokrá (CZE) followed suit after commanding evening wins.

Fellow Croatian pair Pavicevic/Vuk earned a flawless 2:0 win over Slovakia with a walkover scoreline, also securing their place in the Round of 12.

  • Pihera/Melmuka (CZE) – who overcame Slovenia’s top-seeded team
