HAOK Mladost ZAGREB celebrated a hard-fought 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 25-19, 20-25, 15-13) away win at Vasas Óbuda BUDAPEST in the women’s MEVZA League on Wednesday night. Therefore, the Croatian side improved their chances to secure a Final Four spot. They are sitting in third place now to points ahead of Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR. Table leaders OK Calcit KAMNIK, second-placed Vasas Óbuda BUDAPEST and hosts VB NÖ SOKOL/POST are already confirmed as Final Four participants.
In the men’s competition OK MERKUR MARIBOR picked up three points against HAOK Mladost ZAGREB. Slovenia’s reigning national champions needed 103 minutes to emerge victorious with 3-1 (25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23) on home soil. As a result, second-placed OK MERKUR MARIBOR increased their points to 30 from twelve matches they have contested so far. HAOK Mladost ZAGREB, on the other hand, remain third in the current standing. Thus, the Croatian team is still in the race for a Final Four spot.
