The 2025 MEVZA Senior Championship concluded on Saturday in Kranj, Slovenia, with an exciting final day featuring tightly contested semifinals and high-level final matches. In the end, Czech and Slovak teams emerged victorious, claiming the men’s and women’s titles respectively.
Men’s Competition
Czech pair Melmuka/Jezek advanced to the final by default after Dumek/Westphal forfeited their semifinal match. In the second semifinal, Kunert/Petutschnig of Austria outlasted Oliva/Kurka (CZE) in a three-set battle (21–16, 16–21, 15–12), setting up a CZE vs. AUT showdown in the gold medal match.
In the final, Melmuka/Jezek showed dominance on the sand, defeating the Austrian team in straight sets (21–17, 21–17) to secure the men’s title.

Women’s Competition
The women’s semifinals delivered thrilling performances, both going to three sets. Slovak duo Tokosova/Terenova edged out home favorites Javornik/Lovsin T. (SLO) with a 2–1 win (21–17, 9–21, 15–13). On the other side, Kleiblova/Dunarova (CZE) battled past Kotnik/Marolt M. (SLO) in another tight contest (22–24, 21–20, 15–9).
Kotnik/Marolt M. bounced back in the bronze medal match, defeating Javornik/Lovsin T. in straight sets (21–16, 29–27).
The final saw Tokosova/Terenova put on a commanding performance against the Czech duo, winning 2–0 (26–24, 21–16) and securing the championship title for Slovakia.

The tournament brought together elite senior beach volleyball teams from the MEVZA region and delivered three days of high-intensity action and top-level play. With strong organization, enthusiastic crowds, and impressive performances, Kranj once again proved to be a perfect host for international beach volleyball.
