CEV, Luxembourg. The CEV Board of Administration had their first meeting since the elections held this past October in Vienna and even though CEV President Aleksandar Boricic and his colleagues had to be content to reconvene virtually, there was a clear feeling of positive energy and shared determination to work hard to continue to grow the sport despite the global health crisis.
Among other items on the agenda, the BoA finalised the composition of the CEV Commissions for the 2020-2024 term, thus appointing the respective Presidents, Secretaries and all remaining members. With a large variety of countries represented and very diverse personal and professional backgrounds, blending the right degree of youth with experience, the people joining the CEV Commissions will bring their much-needed expertise to help grow Volleyball at all levels in the next four years.
The CEV Commissions (Beach Volleyball, Coaches, Cups, Financial, Legal, Medical, Refereeing and Sports Organising) will support the work of the CEV Board of Administration in their respective areas and help draft proposals and plans to continue the tremendous development that Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Snow Volleyball and the whole Volleyball community have experienced over the last few years.
Their areas of competence are all equally important to cement the CEV’s role as a leading innovator in the sports business, while ensuring a continuous dialogue with all stakeholders, primarily the National Federations, their clubs, players, coaches, officials, referees, etc., and a platform where members of the Volleyball family can exchange ideas, experiences and best practices.
“The CEV Commissions will have a very demanding mission in the years to come. The challenges are plenty and the stakes are much higher than the previous mandate. Therefore, the CEV Board of Administration was very pleased to have received so many candidatures of Volleyball enthusiasts willing to take up this important task,” CEV President Aleksandar Boricic commented.
MEVZA President Karl Hanzl joined the congratulations and wishes to the newly appointed Commission members from the MEVZA countries all the best in their mandates.
