ACH Volley LJUBLJANA cruised to another very confident MEVZA League win. The defending champions and current table leaders celebrated a clean sweep (25-19, 25-21, 25-15) of their Slovenian compatriots OK Calcit KAMNIK on Saturday night. Therefore, ACH Volley have not dropped a single point in the nine matches they have contested so far. No less convincing was the performance of HAOK Mladost ZAGREB. Croatia’s reigning national champions gave no chance to UVC Holding GRAZ of Austria, needing just 58 minutes to secure a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-13) win on home soil. As a result, the hosts moved up to fourth place in the current standing on eight points with a 3-2 win-loss record.
Mladen Kasic, head coach ACH Volley LJUBLJANA: “We showed a great match tonight, it was our best performance this season so far. In fact, we have not won anything yet, but we are happy the way our players are performing on the court. Anyway, we are already looking forward to the CEV Challenge Cup match against VC Barkom-Kazhany LVIV next Wednesday.”
Matija Plesko, head coach OK Calcit KAMNIK: “We must not forget this match, it has to stay in our minds… What bothered me most, was not that they were better in blocking and also in attack, but that my players simply accepted defeat. We had a quit solid reception, but we had no ideas how to get past their block. We made it too easy for them!”
Radovan Gacic, head coach HAOK Mladost ZAGREB: “We would have expected a tougher match today, on the other hand, we served well and therefore they got in trouble with reception. So, that was the key to success. We really deserved to win today.”
Robert Koch, head coach UVC Holding GRAZ: “That was a poor performance from my team today. I hope that we will be able to hone our skills in the next weeks.”
