Slovenia’s second largest city will once again host one of the traditional underage Middle European Championships. In the three-day event seven U20 men’s national teams: Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, and Slovakia will participate.

The opening game will belong to the host team, starting tomorrow at 9:30 at the volleyball center Draš. Israel will be their first opponent. Just an hour later, the matches between Hungary and Austria, and Slovakia and Croatia will be played on the other two courts. In the afternoon, the national team of Israel will step on the court for the second time, this time against Czech Republic. Slovakia will measure their strength with Slovenia, and at the end of the playing day, Hungary and Czech Republic will be on the other side of the net, as well as Croatia and Austria.

Seven matches will also be played on Sunday and Monday, meaning that all teams will play against each other after the total three playing days. The tournament is a part of the annual Middle European Championships and is of course a great opportunity for young and upcoming players and teams to establish themselves in the international circuit, as well as for national team coaches to discover what technical and tactical aspects of the game they will need to work on until next year’s European Championship qualifiers.
