In the first MEVZA League matchup this week, OK Merkur MARIBOR (SLO) came back from one set down to celebrate a 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-15) home win over HAOK Mladost ZAGREB (CRO) on Wednesday.
Therefore, Sebastijan Skorc’s team top the current table after increasing their points to 26 on a 8-3 win-loss record, while the Croatians suffered their second loss in three MEVZA League matches they have contested this season so far.
“We have some injury problems, so I want to congratulate my players on the win. There are some reserves that we will have to show in the next matches”, the winning head coach, Sebastijan Skorc, explained.
MARIBOR’s Rok Mozic topped the match scorer’s on a total of 22 points, while ZAGREB’s Sandro Dukic managed to put 13 to his name. Match analysis: spikes 51 vs 37, aces 8 vs 4, winning blocks 7 vs 6 and opponent errors 32 vs 35.
Already on Thursday night, Mladost ZAGREB will be facing SK Zadruga AICH/DOB (AUT) at Bleiburg. Mladost are playing a number of matches they were due to contest earlier in the season when some of their players caught the novel coronavirus, with this resulting in the postponement of a number of their fixtures.
