Calcit Volley KAMNIK continued to impress in this men’s MEVZA League season, when they celebrated a 3-1 (27-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-15) away victory at Mladost Ribola KASTELA (CRO) on Sunday evening. As a result, the Slovenian side moved up to second place in the current table on nine points (3-0 win-loss record) and are – with one match less – in hot pursuit of leaders Mladost ZAGREB (10).
Milosz Hebda and Andrej Stembergar Zupan split the best scorer’s honours for the winning team with 16 points each, while Mladost’s opposite Ivan Matokovic stood out with 23.
“Calcit Volley showed more quality today – especially on serve, what was crucial. The first set could have gone in another direction. Anyway, they deserved the win. On the other hand, we had really good moments and proved to be tough opponents for all of the MEVZA League teams”, Mladost Ribola KASTELA head coach Ivan Rancic said after the second loss of his team in their third match in this competition.
