With two matches ahead VK UP Olomouc has comfortable seven points lead in this seasons MEVZA Cup Women. The girls from Czechia left the tournament in Bratislava with two wins. Starting with a 3-1 against home team from Strabag VC Bratislava, followed by a win in three straight sets against Mladost Zagreb.
The Hungarian team from Linamar Békécsabai RSE kept close with winning its single match against Slávia Bratislava. Meanwhile in Maribor the two Slovenian teams from Nova KBM Branik and Calcit Volley Kamnik faced each other, together with Fatum Nyíregyháza. Second Hungarian team needed two times full points to keep in the track for the final four, started with a surprising 3:1 against host team from Zagreb but failed against Calcit Volley. Kamnik’s girls also did not lose a single set against Maribor what shows them on third rank on the table. Even losing both matches last weekend Nova KBM Branik Maribor stays on the final four road. Also still in hopeful position with winning against Strabag VC Bratislava and losing against VK UP Olomouc is Mladost Zagreb. Croatians played only five matches so far, lost only two, which means sixth rank in the table with the same losses like second ranked Hungarians.
In Vienna Sokol Post NÖ managed to gain its first three points this season, winning 3:1 against Vasas Óbuda Budapest, looking forward after also having only five matches played to climb up the table for one or two more places.
