Veterans to compete for the second time

International Veteran Volleyball Tournament took place, for the first time, in the Czech Republic in 2017. The tournament was organized by an emerging association IVVA (International Veteran Volleyball Association) which was founded in 2015. The tournament was held in the city of Ostrava (Europen city of sports 2014) which is known for its support of international events and a rich tradition of sport at all levels.

In 2017, all together 26 teams from 10 different European countries participated in the tournament. In three match days the participants played in total 84 matches.

Participating countries:
Czech Republic, Slovakia, Norway, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria and Hungary.

Although this was our first time organizing this tournament, I feel it was a great success. I would like to praise our organizing team for doing very good job throughout the whole event. Participants mainly from foreign countries left Ostrava with lots of great memories, which they obtained during the 3 days that they spent here. We already have the date set for next year 2018 and we are expecting even greater interest from both participating teams and also general public.“
