Preparing the future

It was in the middle of April, when MEVZA invited their members to Vienna to discuss about the future of MEVZA-League. Prevailing opinion is that competing clubs should remain in their national leagues. Preferred system – despite all national differences – is to go back to the league system instead of the cup played last year. Clubs competing in MEVZA league should enter their national championships at play off level. The compromise for the upcoming season will be a similar system to last season with nine to twelve clubs, together with the National Associations six weekends will be blocked for MEVZA. Additionally the schedule shall take care, that derbies will be played in the home countries. So that fans and friends have the chance to see their home teams in high class MEVZA-matches at home.
