MEVZA FINAL FOUR – THE FINALS


The MEVZA Final Four was taking place in Zagreb from 11th – 12th March! The level and excitement of the matches were in a class of their own.

MEN FINALS

Game for the 3rd Place
The game for the 3rd place was decided by the home favourite Mladost ZAGREB and the team from Slovakia Bystrina SPU NITRA. Even though the Croatians got better and better trough the match, Bystrina SPU NITRA won within three sets.

Final for the first place

In the final game for the first place, ACH Volley Ljubljana played against the Austrian Team Hypo Tirol innbsruck. It was a head to head race over the full distance of 5 sets. In the end the Team from Ljubljana had the better finish and brought the cup home with the following scores:

LADIES FINALS
Game for the 3rd Place
From the ladies teams, the home team Mladost Zagreb played against Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR from Slovenia. It was a surprise, that they had to play over the full distance of five sets, but with the support of their fans Mladost Zagreb was able to show off some skill. In the end the favourite from Slovenia found back to their strengths and decided the match with 15:5

Final for the first place
The ladies final was at least as exciting as the mens final! The showdown took place between Calcit Ljubljana from Slovenia and the team located at Hungarian boarder Linamar BÉKÉSCSABAI RSE. After a close fight the first set went to Clacit Ljubljana! In the second and third set Linamar BÉKÉSCSABAI RSE showed some dominance and took over the game! But the ladies from Slovenia never gave up and took the lead in the 4th set. In an exciting finish the Hungarian ladies put everything on the line and won with 26:24!
